Halo - 13 days after launching my Mac notch app: 61 sales and what buyer emails changed

Wait 5 sec.

I'm 17 and built Halo alone: a Mac app that turns the MacBook notch into a Dynamic Island (notifications from any app, hold-Fn dictation, music with lyrics, external monitor brightness, and a little face that shows when Claude Code is done). Honest numbers after 13 days: - 61 sales at $9.99 one-time, $455 gross - 1 refund - 44 of 60 keys activated What actually worked: - Emailing every buyer one question: "what annoys you?" Four answers became release 2.0.2 within days: the island opened by accident when the cursor passed by, it covered menu bar icons, the hover cue was invisible on black wallpapers, and lyrics got cut off. - A short film beat every screenshot. What hurt: - It's not notarized yet, so macOS shows a scary warning on first launch. I'm sure that costs sales. - Traffic dies the day you stop posting. Today I had 9 visitors by 10 AM. Questions for you: is $9.99 one-time right, and would you trust an unnotarized app from a solo dev? halo-mac.com submitted by /u/otabek-abdiraimov [link] [comments]
