HOW-TO: Using Structure + Order Flow to Confirm entriesE-mini S&P 500 FuturesCME_MINI:ES1!Turttle_TraderDear traders, In this example, price pushed into a major high / all-time-high area and printed a (rekt candle) right at the top which means the strong aggression and heavy activity came in, but price could not keep moving higher and reversed almost immediately. That first reaction was important. Using AlphaShell Structure Pro, we can see that the rejection from the top left behind a double FVG (two Fair Value Gaps forming very close to each other / overlapping in the same zone, creating a stronger imbalance area to watch on the retest). For me, that turns the area into a very interesting location, but location alone is not enough. The key part came on the second test. Price came back to retest that double FVG zone and failed again. This is where AlphaShell Order Flow Pro helped a lot. Inside the red rectangle, we had a stacked sell imbalance — in simple terms, aggressive selling showed up in that area, confirming that sellers were actually stepping in and defending the zone. That combination is what makes the setup much cleaner: - Structure Pro gave the location - Order Flow Pro gave the confirmation So instead of blindly shorting the first touch, the better read here was to let price come back into the zone, watch the rejection, and then use the order-flow confirmation to build the case. The second circle marks the short entry. At that point, the trade idea becomes pretty straightforward: - Entry: on the rejection from the retest area - Invalidation / Stop: above the top / above the local high - Reasoning: failed retest of the double FVG + stacked sell imbalance confirming seller aggression That’s really the main lesson here. A lot of traders focus only on structure or only on order flow. But when both line up, the setup becomes much more meaningful. For me, structure tells me where to pay attention, and order flow helps tell me whether the market is actually reacting there. Not every FVG will hold, and not every imbalance will lead to a move. But when you get a clean structural zone and clear aggressive participation at that same area, the probability of a quality setup improves a lot. That’s really the main lesson here. All the best,
