My local directory finally has users. Now I’m trying not to ruin it by building too much.

Wait 5 sec.

I’ve been building a local senior-services directory called Senior Support Finder. It now has 97 providers/resources, eight articles, and enough real usage that I can finally see what people are actually searching for. In the last 30 days: 318 searches 197 provider views 17 outbound website clicks The useful part has been watching people expose gaps I never would have guessed correctly on my own. Someone searching “I’m worried about falls” led me to improve home-safety search. “Wills and trusts” led to adding local estate-planning attorneys. “Finding a home for my relative” exposed a senior-placement gap. Reddit users also caught homepage suggested searches that returned no results, so those got fixed. I’m at the point where the site probably needs distribution more than features. For people who have grown a local marketplace/directory: Would you focus almost entirely on traffic/provider activation now, or continue adding SEO content alongside distribution? submitted by /u/aclgetmoney [link] [comments]
