Fully agree. They’re trying to sell it like some influencer collaboration, when really they should just be asking for volunteers. I also think it’s odd for them to be making a post on reddit rather than reaching out to local/nearby businesses and people directly. Thinking back, the majority of guest speakers that came to my classes were people my professors had some sort of previous professional relationship with, even if was originally built from having that person be a guest speaker over the years
