A man waiting in line outside a Trump campaign event in Youngstown, Ohio, offered sharp criticism of the president during an on-site interview. Real America’s Voice, the MAGA-aligned network, broadcast the exchange after Bobby McNeily spoke with the attendee inside the rally arena on Monday evening. McNeily set up the clip for colleagues in the studio by noting that the man had come to listen and dialogue. He identified the person as Brian and mentioned that friends had indicated Brian was not a supporter of President Trump. Brian did not hesitate. “Oh, I’m absolutely not,” he replied when asked directly about his view of the president, according to Mediaite. Attendee outlines expected remarks and explains Republican registration strategy McNeily then asked Brian what he hoped to hear during the event. Brian laughed before answering. “Oh,” he said, “what I hope to hear is not what I plan to hear. What I plan to hear is a bunch of rhetoric, a bunch of lies, a bunch of the same old script – that sort of stuff.” A Trump rally is not always a friendly room for the president, as a restless Iowa crowd heckling Trump showed. He went on to describe his purpose for being there. Brian stated, “I’m here to get kind of like a first-hand perspective of the kind of lies and garbage and stuff that he’s gonna probably be peddling for the next two years – as if the first two haven’t been bad enough.” The conversation shifted to Brian’s political background. He explained that he had been an independent because he considers himself moderate. Brian said he stayed independent until Vice President JD Vance entered the ballot, at which point he registered as a Republican. His stated strategy was that voting against Vance in a primary could keep him off the general election ballot and give him two chances to eliminate all these MAGA idiots. Registering as a Republican did not make Brian a fan of Trump, and he is a Republican repulsed by Trump. McNeily followed up by asking whether Brian felt encouraged by the selection of JD Vance. Brian answered, “Oh, I can’t stand him.” He added, “Basically, anybody that endorses or is endorsed by Donald is not a fan of mine. I kind of figure, like -” The network cut the interview at that moment and returned to the studio. Hosts then continued discussing the exchange with the rallygoer.
