Ruben Dias has revealed that the Man City squad met up and held a meeting to discuss to the charges levelled at the club. An independent commission found City had committed multiple breaches of the Premier League‘s financial regulations by artificially inflating their revenues over a nine-year period. City have lodged their appeal of the verdict and insist they are innocent of all charges, which include failure to cooperate with the investigation. The decision was first made public during the international break when most of the squad were away with their respective national teams. Dias says the players swiftly got in contact with one another before holding a team meeting when they returned to Manchester to discuss the matter and ensure they could move forward as a unit. Ruben Dias reveals Man City players held meeting over chargesSpeaking ahead of Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain, the City captain said: “When it broke, we felt we should have a conversation as soon as we got back. We did, for everyone to be on the same page, and be clear about our peace of mind. We moved on from there. “It happened in a moment when we were not together but quickly we reached out to each other, found calm and progressed forward.”In their first game since the decision was made public, City secured a massive 3-0 win over Liverpool at Anfield to keep them at the top of the Premier League table. The side was criticised for celebrating so vociferously in the wake of the charges, but Dias says they were just delighted to get the three points. “It all mixes together a little bit but mainly we know it’s not easy to get three points at Anfield,” he said. “That is definitely the main reason. We’re here for the points and to win competitions, that’s the main thing on our minds.“It’s a win at Anfield. In whatever circumstance, be it early in the season or late in the season, we will enjoy it just as much and celebrate however we feel in the moment. It’s a show of how much it means to us.”Amid all the discussion over potential sanctions, Dias says it is “impossible” to avoid the “noise” surrounding City right now, but insists they are fully focused on their jobs. He adds that they “trust the club” despite the charges. The Portugal international said: “There’s a lot of noise and it’s almost impossible to avoid seeing something even us being as private as we can be. On your phone, it’s impossible to avoid everything. “We’re very good at focusing on our job and being happy every time we come to work. Our minds are there and only there. It’s the things we can control and the things we’ve always been doing and enjoying so much. “We have full confidence in the club and trust the club.”The City players have evidently developed a siege mentality on the pitch, with Dias adding that “people don’t love us winning”. “If there’s more or less noise, for whatever reason, it’s all the same. Same as before because people don’t love us winning and we love to win.“It’s a normal scenario where whenever you win, there are people that are not happy with it because they have the same ambition to win.”Read – Man Utd boss Carrick wants speedy resolution to Man City appealRead More – Man City hierarchy continue to embarrass themselvesSee Also – Five of the best Premier League away kits in 2026/27Follow the Football Faithful on Social Media:Facebook | Instagram | Twitter | YouTube | TikTokThe post Ruben Dias reveals Man City players held meeting over charges appeared first on The Football Faithful.
