ESPN's Pete Thamel reported the College Football Playoff is nearing a deal to jump from 12 to 24 teams starting in 2027 (not final yet). I broke down the reported format: a 24-team field of 19 at-large teams plus the Power 4 champs and the top Group of 6 team, seeds 1-8 on a bye, seeds 9-16 hosting first-round campus games, and the quarters and semis staying in the New Year's Six bowls. There's a printable 24-team bracket in there too. https://sportsbrackets.net/2026/10/15/cfp-expanding-to-24-teams-2027/ submitted by /u/javanx3d2 to r/sportsschedules [link] [comments]
