China said it was ready to work with India to allay its concerns of rising trade imbalance. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said the trade imbalance was due to China's restrictions in market access to Indian goods and services. She said that India has not resorted to punitive tariffs to reign in large trade imbalances and prefers negotiations despite the process being time-consuming.
