Noise cancelling earphones are not fully-blocking-out-the-sound earplugs. They just lower the intensity of the noise down to about 25dbs. It works for some autistic people but not all. My son's school wanted us to provide those for him, but his issue was his 5 loud classmates and not noise in general.
