A woman in Miami, Florida, recently shared a video on TikTok capturing a tense moment in a hospital recovery room after she underwent an unspecified procedure that required anesthesia. The footage shows the patient, known online as honeyyamz4u or Honey, struggling to follow instructions from medical staff while she appeared disoriented and barely conscious, as reported by The Nerd Stash. The clip has since become the most-viewed video on her account, drawing more than 254,000 views and nearly 2,200 comments. Many commenters focused on the nurses’ bedside manner, as Honey could barely keep her eyes open through most of the footage. The situation unfolded as two nurses attempted to transition Honey from her hospital bed to a chair. Even though Honey had her eyes closed and was struggling to stay awake, one nurse began giving direct orders. She told the patient, “Alright, open your eyes. You’re coming over here to the chair.” The nurse kept telling her to hold her head up The nurse then physically reached out and straightened Honey’s head, telling her, “Hold your head up. Hold your head up.” Honey appeared confused and uncomfortable, and did not seem to want to leave the bed. That physical handling drew the strongest reaction in the comments. @honeyyamz4u ♬ original sound – honeyyamz After Honey expressed her discomfort, one of the nurses stepped back and said, “Alright, leave her alone. I’m not fighting her.” The bed barrier was raised for a few seconds, giving Honey more time. However, the reprieve did not last long, as the nurses insisted she needed to get up and move. One nurse explained that sitting up would ease stomach pain, telling the patient, “You have air in there. It’s gotta move.” Viewers, however, took issue with the tone and the physical handling of a patient who was barely awake. Eventually, the nurses helped Honey walk to the chair. Honey is not a typical content creator, as her social media history has mostly consisted of casual selfies and photos rather than scripted videos. Nurse and patient interactions have drawn heavy scrutiny on TikTok before. In 2022, four nurses were fired from Emory University Hospital Midtown in Atlanta after posting a TikTok about maternity patients that Emory Healthcare called disrespectful and unprofessional. Not every viewer sided with Honey. Some commenters defended the nurses, with one arguing that nurses “deal with difficult patients all day long” and may have assumed she was exaggerating how groggy she was. Others pushed back on that view. The hospital and the nurses in the video have not been publicly identified, and their side of the interaction could not be verified. Honey has not shared further details about the incident or the procedure.
