/u/EeveeQueen15 on I know it says no judgement, and I’m trying but…

Wait 5 sec.

Currently, my fiancé pays my $40 rent. But first I had to apply and wait until my name was reached on a waiting list, which was a 10 month wait. I lived with my abusive paternal grandma who used me to do basically everything for her while her doctors told her that she needed to move and walk as much as possible because her health was going downhill. My only other option was to live on the streets and I had a blind senior Chihuahua and a Golden Chi that I was responsible for. So, I tolerated the abuse for them. Then once my name was reached, I had to gather a lot of information and wait another month before I could move in. On top of that, every year for my apartment building, and every 3 months for my SNAP, I have to prove that I'm disabled even though my primary care doctor has filled out a form confirming that I'm permanently disabled and will never be able to work again. While I can't earn money working a job, I still pay for my necessities with my time, labor, and right to privacy for my health. Have you ever had to disclose your health information to your landlord because the government is providing housing for you because you're in a situation you never asked for? HIPAA doesn't matter at that point. Your doctor might as well tell the entire world all your medical conditions and what medications you take because you have to all the time. I'd rather come home every day in severe pain from working than live like this. Living like this sucks.
