The initiative appears to leverage improving relations between Trump and Putin amid concerns from Ukraine and European allies. Discussions regarding the meeting are ongoing, with confirmation from Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov about the talks. Trump, while not formally agreeing to the summit, has shown potential openness to resolve the war.
