Live2D art vs Character Sheet if you only want a 3D model not 2D?

Wait 5 sec.

$1000 art budget. What is the general rule here - do people that never start off in 2D go for a reference sheet/character sheet and then give it to the 3D modeller? Or is the Live2D art better? Because I have no idea if it's just me, but when I look at even $300-400 Live2D art, it seems... much higher quality than a $300-400 rendered character sheet, like considerably higher detail and rendering, especially for eyes and clothing details. I could be totally wrong here, but it's like Live2D artists supe up the rendering to mach-2? Regarding the eyes, is an eye banner of all things the best way forward to get super detailed eyes designed for the 3D modeller to texture, or are eye banners not used for that at all? submitted by /u/DarthBuzzard to r/VirtualYoutubers [link] [comments]
