I've been working on Vladmir, an open-source personal AI assistant that brings together local AI, voice, memory, vision, and practical tools in one project. The idea is to build something closer to a personal computing assistant than just another chatbot. Some of the features I've been working on: Local AI: Uses Ollama for local model inference. Voice interaction: Speech-to-text with Whisper and text-to-speech with Piper. Vision: Can process camera or video frames using compatible vision models. Persistent memory: Local storage for conversations and a knowledge library. Developer tools: Programming assistance, GitHub integration, and an experimental IDE integration. Everyday utilities: Agenda, reminders, web search, and email draft generation. Mobile and wearable integration: Companion projects for Android and Wear OS. The main goal is to make these capabilities work together in one system while keeping local operation and user control as important design principles. It's still a work in progress. Some integrations are experimental, and the Android/Wear OS experience still needs more real-device testing. I'm not claiming everything is production-ready. I'm sharing it here because I'd love to hear what people think. What features would you find genuinely useful in a personal AI assistant? Is there anything you'd approach differently from an architectural or usability perspective? GitHub: https://github.com/thu12dta3/Vladmir It's open source under the MIT license.
