Four Tottenham Hotspur players are closing in on a return to action, while another continues to focus on injury rehabilitation work.Coming into the clash against Manchester United last weekend, Tottenham Hotspur had a few players who were doubts.Jan Paul van Hecke and Micky van de Ven looked set to miss out after picking up injuries while away with the Netherlands. However, their issues proved not to be serious, and both returned at the weekend – Van Hecke starting from the off, while Van de Ven came off the bench against the Red Devils.Regardless, Tottenham still have several players sidelined, including Pedro Porro, Wilson Odobert, Dejan Kulusevski, Mykhailo Mudryk and Xavi Simons.Credit: @thefrederikkejensen / InstagramTottenham injury update: Porro and Mudryk close to returnStandard Sport has now provided a return timeline for the five injured players ahead of the clash against Coventry. As it stands, Pedro Porro – who picked up an injury in the clash against Aston Villa – is not far from a return. Head coach Roberto De Zerbi confirmed this in his pre-match press conference before Tottenham faced Manchester United. He said: “Pedro – I think – is not [out] for many games.”Following De Zerbi’s latest comments, the publication expects Porro to make a return in Tottenham’s clash against Chelsea.Mykhailo Mudryk is another star currently sidelined. The Ukrainian suffered an ankle injury in training, which De Zerbi described as “stupid.” Reports stated Mudryk would be out for six to eight weeks, but much of that time was covered by the international break. A return is therefore not too far off, with Standard Sport pencilling him in to feature at the end of the month when Spurs face Crystal Palace.Kulusevski, Odobert and Simons recovery timelinesDejan Kulusevski is also edging closer to a return, having taken several positive strides towards full fitness in recent weeks. For the first time in 500 days, Kulusevski was involved in an 11 vs 11 match, featuring in a training clash against Spurs’ U21s and U18s. De Zerbi confirmed the Swede has been making good progress, but he was not fit enough to make the squad against United. Some reports suggest he could return this month, though Standard Sport have set his timeline for November. In terms of long-term absentees, Wilson Odobert is currently the closest to making a comeback after suffering an ACL injury in February. A return later this year is expected, with next month named as a possible date. That leaves Xavi Simons as the only player without a clear timeline. While some reports have claimed the Dutchman could return earlier than expected, those suggestions have been dismissed. Standard Sport expects Simons to make his comeback early next year.READ MORE: ‘I am Tottenham’s fastest player until Mudryk returns’: Micky van de Ven says the stats lieThe post Tottenham injury update: Pedro Porro and Mudryk near return as Kulusevski set for November comeback appeared first on Spurs Web.
