I got tired of "dofollow" directories that were actually nofollow, so I built a launch site where the backlink is verifiable

Wait 5 sec.

Solo maker here. I spent the last month submitting my product to 200+ startup directories. The most annoying pattern: directories whose marketing pages promised dofollow backlinks, but the actual listing page had rel="nofollow" in the HTML. I verified 55 of them in page source and wrote up the three most common tricks. So I built DebutPin (https://debutpin.com/) — a launch playground for indie makers. Free listings, you collect pins for your launches, and the outbound link on your listing page is dofollow, in exchange for a backlink from your homepage. The mechanism is public, so anyone can check it in 10 seconds with view-source. Beyond the backlink: ship your product and your page goes live instantly. Collect pins for showing up and shipping, wear them on your public profile, and earned pins are never taken back. The board ranks makers, not just products — showing up consistently counts. And when you want more than votes, structured collabs let you set up a mutual review, a cross-promo, or a resource swap, with both sides confirming before any contact info moves. You can also embed a badge card of your pins on your blog. It just won LaunchBoard Week 41 (#1, 13 votes). Still early, and I'm looking for makers willing to launch there and tell me what sucks. Roast welcome. Next pin: yours. submitted by /u/ssshooter [link] [comments]
