Hey r/SideProject, I built a tiny site called AI Moments where people can share interesting or funny interactions they have with AI. The idea started because I kept saving screenshots of good ChatGPT/Claude responses and had nowhere clean to put them. So I made a simple place to collect them. Here’s one of my favorites so far: I farted in a silent elevator with my boss. I asked AI for a damage-control plan Prompt: Disaster report. Packed elevator, 9 people, total silence, floor 4 of 22. My stomach made an executive decision and I farted — audibly. My boss was standing directly behind me. Nobody has said anything yet, which is somehow worse. AI, I need a full damage-control plan: do I own it, deny it, or blame the intern, and what are the career consequences of each path? AI Response: INCIDENT ASSESSMENT: Severity 8/10. You have released a biological statement in a metal box with no ventilation and nine witnesses, one of whom controls your promotion. The silence you describe is not mercy; it's nine adults silently running the same calculation you're running now. PATH A — OWN IT: A short smile and "Sorry, everyone — that was me" converts a crime into a personality. Humans respect a confession far more than a mystery. Risk: you become "elevator guy" for one quarter. Boss impact: surprisingly positive — owning a fart is the most leadership behavior some managers see all week. PATH B — DENY IT: Forbidden. A denied fart never dies; it gets a pension. Under the ancient law, whoever denied it becomes the suspect forever. PATH C — BLAME THE INTERN: Morally available, tactically fatal. The intern knows. The intern will always know. And interns become colleagues, then managers, then the person deciding your layoff list in 2031. LONG-TERM FORECAST: In 18 floors you will all exit, and this becomes a story everyone tells without names. Farts have a half-life of one elevator ride; reputations for cowardice are forever. VERDICT: Own it, smile, say nothing else. Exit on 22 like a person who has survived worse — because after this, you have. Anything you’d want to see added (tags, search, ability to submit your own, etc.)? Thanks! submitted by /u/Euphoric_Produce_812 [link] [comments]
