You’ve seen your app idea before. Should you still build it?

Wait 5 sec.

Disclosure: we build RNBlocks, a mobile app studio. This is a way to make the “someone already built it” question concrete. Imagine two people looking for a running app: A beginner training for their first 5K who wants to know what to do today. A coach planning runs for a group who wants to assign workouts and see who completed them. For the beginner, a small first version might be: open today’s run, follow it, record that it’s done, and see what’s next. The coach needs a different first task. Then the useful questions are: What do they use now? What is frustrating about finishing that task? Is your version useful enough for them to change what they use? A new colour scheme or a longer feature list doesn’t answer those questions. A short demo they can actually try gives you something to test. What made you keep building a side project when you found a similar app? Or what made you decide to stop? Our studio: RNBlocks. submitted by /u/After-Base-8368 [link] [comments]
