Drop the vetting argument, I agree with you. She has an apartment in a prime NYC location. It's probably worth $300-$500 per night as a short term rental. She is paying for a cat sitter. The renters/sitters are paying ~$200 less per day. It's a win-win situation. I can only assume she'll vet the renters before letting them in.
