Any other new grads feel like they know absolutely nothing? 😭

Wait 5 sec.

L I graduate from LPN school in about 2 months, and honestly, I’m scared shitless. I passed my classes, but it was HARD. I’m not a huge school person, and my memory is basically that of a goldfish lol. I passed with exactly what I needed to pass, but I was never the smartest person in my class. If anything, I feel like I’m one of the dumbest sometimes. My preceptor even told me she doesn’t think I’m built for nursing, and honestly, that really got in my head. :( Before nursing school, I worked in insurance, so this is a whole new world for me. The thing is, I genuinely love people and helping others. I feel like my heart is in the right place, but I’m terrified of actually graduating and being responsible for real patients when I feel like I barely know anything. I know nursing school can’t teach you everything, and I know you learn a lot on the job, but how do you go from feeling like you’re just trying to survive exams to being an actual nurse who knows what they’re doing? I guess I’m just looking for some reassurance from people who have been there. Did anyone else graduate feeling completely unprepared or like they weren’t smart enough to be a nurse? Did it eventually click once you started working? I really do want to do this, but I’m scared I’m going to get out there and realize I’m not cut out for it. Please tell me I’m not the only one who feels this way. 😭 submitted by /u/Suspicious_Sock_2048 [link] [comments]
