Amazon has launched another buy 1, get 1 50% off book sale this week and it includes the wonderful Legend of Zelda Encyclopedia. This hardcover book is a great gift for fans of the video game series and the latest discount makes it a good time to pick up a copy for yourself and a friend. The encyclopedia was originally published back in 2018, but has consistently been one of the most popular Legend of Zelda books out there. In addition to being part of Amazon's BOGO promotion, it's also on sale for 45% off list price. It is worth noting that there's a reason this book has consistently been on sale over the last few years. The encyclopedia only explores the first 30 years of The Legend of Zelda, which means it doesn't include information from Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom. The timeline and database element of the book only extends to the Twilight Princess era of the games. That being said, it's still the only version of the encyclopedia that exists. Now that we've made it to The Legend of Zelda's 40th anniversary it's certainly possible that Nintendo will eventually put out an updated version with the latest games included, but nothing has been announced just yet. The only Legend of Zelda book we know is coming down the pipeline is Secrets of the Zonai and that doesn't come out until March 2027.The Legend of Zelda Encyclopedia is the latest release in a series of three collector's books. In addition to this guide, there's also Hyrule Historia and Art & Artifacts, both of which dive into more specific historical information. Unfortunately, neither of those books are included in Amazon's sale right now.More Zelda Books in the SaleSince the only way to get the extra 50% off is to buy two books included in Amazon's sale, I've gone ahead and pulled out some other notable Zelda books. First up there's Akira Himeka's Ocarina of Time manga. With Nintendo's Ocarina of Time remake right around the corner, the official manga is a really cool addition to your collection. Due to the way the sale works, however, you'd only save an additional $5 by buying this alongside the encyclopedia. If you want to save a bit more money and double up on Zelda gifts for yourself, the Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom guides are your best bet here. They include information that the Legend of Zelda Encyclopedia is lacking and are more similarly priced. Pairing the encyclopedia with either of these books would ensure you get an extra $11 off with the promotion.
