Gorghak the Skull-Splitter. A warlord known for bathing in the blood of his enemies and leaving a trail of crushed heads behind him. After centuies of slaughter, he stands victorious under the cold moon, looking for his next hunt This was my final exam after 8 months of owning a 3D printer. I actually made this about a year ago and haven't painted many minis since then. Now I'm finally getting back into the hobby, shaking off the rust and preparing for some massive new projects in my workshop. The painting process was a heavy technical workflow: I started with a black base and did a white zenithal shading. After that i applied Army Painter Speedpaint "Blinding Light", which beautifully toned it down into three distinct shades of grey, creating an awesome volumetric base. Then I went in with an acrylic marker and white acrylic for the fine lines, and finally layered the colors on top of that four-tone foundation. Before anyone calls this AI or Photoshop: the moon backdrop is 100% physical, printed out on paper. I shot this in my photo booth(which I bought recently ) and the only "trick I used was manually lowering the lighting/exposure to get those deep, heavy shadows. No filters, no digital edits.
