Hi everyone — I’ve been building a local-first AI tool for 2D game animation. The goal is simple: reduce the tedious parts of character animation work without depending on cloud APIs or losing control over the art pipeline. It takes a reference image/character setup, reconstructs a usable 2D asset pipeline, handles rigging/retargeting and animation append flow, and exports game-ready output in a format suited for 2D game production. This is especially useful for: indie devs and solo creators technical artists animators who want faster iteration teams that want private local workflows What makes it different: runs locally avoids uploading game assets to external services targets real workflow bottlenecks, not just image generation designed for game production, not “AI magic” output alone Project page: https://donatelloai.co/ Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5030490/Donatello/ I’m sharing this as a build-in-public project and would love feedback from people working on local AI tools, pipeline tooling, or game animation workflows. Would be great to hear what people think, especially around workflow quality, artist control, and practical production use. submitted by /u/Responsible_Fan_2757 [link] [comments]
