The Fasig-Tipton October Digital Sale closed Wednesday afternoon with the two sessions, the first of which closed Tuesday, totaling $6,729,000 for 287 horses sold.“The October Digital Sale was a tremendous success, delivering stronger numbers than last year and vibrant market activity across all market segments,” said Leif Aaron, Fasig-Tipton Director of Digital Sales. “Gross sales increased 34%, the average price increased 14%, and the median increased 28% over 2025.”Topping the sale was Ada Clare (Quality Road) (hip 39), a 3-year-old half-sister to recent GI Claiborne Breeders' Futurity winner American History (Constitution) and a recent winner herself in an allowance race at Kentucky Downs Sept. 7. Consigned by X-Men Racing, Ada Clare was purchased for $500,000 by DG Stables.“We raced Ada Clare, so it made sense for us to sell her, as we had direct contact with her,” said Donato Lanni on behalf of X-Men Racing. “I've never sold a sales topper before! Fasig-Tipton Digital is a proven, well-developed system. It's a transparent process and Fasig-Tipton has a strong track record, so it just felt natural to sell online with them.”Lanni continued to be complimentary of the Digital Platform, notably for racehorses and broodmares.“There is ample time for people to look at the horses,” Lanni said. “My phone rang, and serious buyers came to see [Ada Clare]. If you put a good video online, take a full-disclosure approach and do your part to sell the horse, it works out. Especially for racehorses and broodmares, it's a simple way to sell that saves time and the expense of shipping to a sale.”Hadrian's Wall (Curlin) (hip 13), a horse of racing age, sold for $300,000 to NRCLUB as the sale's second-highest price and its highest-priced colt. The 3-year-old son of Curlin, out of GII Adirondack Stakes winner Thoughtfully, was offered by ELiTE, agent.Sobhy Sonbol went to $240,000 to secure the sale's top broodmare, and Wednesday's overall top price in Hillerito (Army Mule) (hip 257), offered carrying her first foal on a cover from Maxfield, by Ballysax Bloodstock. Hillerito hails from the immediate family of Champion 2-Year-Old Filly Countess Diana.“I bought her for a US-based client of mine, so she'll stay in the United States,” Sonbol told the TDN. “She was a very fast filly herself, and she really had this incredible athleticism that Army Mule throws. He really stamps these really athletic horses. Everything fit [for her]. If you want to supplement to your broodmare band, she was that kind of type that you'd love to have in your band. Just really, really athletic. [Maxfield] is having a great year with a phenomenal horse like Englishman. But [her appeal] was more that type that Army Mule throws that really kind of caught our eye. [Her price] was in the range. There was a lot of interest in her, because I could see there were multiple different bidders there at the end, but [the price] was around the same range where we thought she'd be in this market. It's a good price for a mare who has shown ability and it's a good time [to be a seller].CRC Racing purchased racing/broodmare prospect Lee's Baby Girl (Malibu Moon) (hip 23) for $220,000 from the consignment of Carla Gaines, agent. A 4-year-old daughter of Malibu Moon, Lee's Baby Girl is a three-time winner and was graded stakes placed in the GIII John C. Harris Stakes last year. She has earned $211,980 to date.Beautiful Blome (Blofeld) (hip 2), sold for $150,000 to Caroline and Greg Bentley from the consignment of Evergreen Equine, agent. Offered as a racing/broodmare prospect, the 4-year-old filly was a stakes winner as a juvenile and sold off a victory in her most recent start on September 11. A seven-time winner, Beautiful Blome has earned $329,710 to date.“As we look ahead to the December Digital Sale, I strongly encourage sellers to use a professional consignor,” noted Aaron. “The results speak for themselves. A small commission can deliver an average sales price of 25% more. That's a difference worth considering when it comes to maximizing your horse's value.”The next digital sale is the December Digital Sale, to be held December 3-8.
