The man who died in a rock climbing accident in Wied Fulija last week has been identified as 55-year-old Swiss national Daniel Fransson.Fransson was the Chief Technology Officer and a member of the Executive Board at Schlatter Industries AG.He lost his life while rock climbing along the cliffs in the Wied Fulija area of Żurrieq while on holiday in Malta.A search was launched for Fransson and another person following the incident. He was found unconscious and suffering from several injuries before being certified dead a short time later.A woman involved in the incident was found conscious but was also suffering from injuries.In a statement, Schlatter Industries said it was “with deep sadness” that it announced Fransson’s death.“With Daniel Fransson, Schlatter has lost a highly valued leader and dedicated colleague who played a key role in shaping the company’s technological development,” the company said.Lovin Malta sends its condolences to the Daniel’s family during this difficult time•
