I got tired of translating my YouTube titles by hand, so I built a free open-source extension for it

Wait 5 sec.

I run a small faceless music channel, and adding localized titles and descriptions really helps with reach in other countries. But doing it by hand for 20 languages per video is painful, and the tools that do it are paid. So I built YT Localizer, a Chrome extension that works inside YouTube Studio: Pick languages with Top 10 / Top 20 / by-RPM presets, or choose your own Translates with DeepL Free, and falls back to Gemini's free tier for languages DeepL doesn't support Shows a preview of everything before it publishes through the official YouTube Data API (nothing is scraped) Titles over YouTube's 100-character limit get shortened smartly: it keeps the duration and key parts, and asks you to approve the result It costs $0 to run on free tiers. MIT licensed: github.com/MykolaRudnev/yt-localizer Setup needs your own Google Cloud OAuth client, about 10 minutes, and the guide is in the repo. I'd love feedback, especially on which languages actually bring views for you. #Showcase #OpenSource #YouTube #YouTubeTips #ContentCreator submitted by /u/Otherwise_Honeydew66 [link] [comments]
