Tottenham Hotspur have the small matter of a London derby at Chelsea coming up soon, but their focus will first be on the crucial game against Coventry.Roberto De Zerbi’s men certainly cannot afford to look too far ahead at the moment, and they are still winless in the Premier League and languishing at the bottom of the table after six matches. There is a feeling among the Spurs fan base that performances are trending in the right direction, especially after the dramatic nature of the equaliser at Old Trafford after the away side were reduced to 10 men. The two sides have met 33 times at Chelsea’s home ground in the Premier League, and it is the Blues who have dominated the fixture, winning 21 matches, drawing 11 and losing just once. That sole Tottenham victory came back in 2018 thanks to Dele Alli and co, and De Zerbi will be desperate for his side to replicate that result next weekend.SeasonMatchdayVenueDateFixtureResult25/2637H19/05/2026Chelsea FC vs Tottenham Hotspur2:124/2530H03/04/2025Chelsea FC vs Tottenham Hotspur1:023/2426H02/05/2024Chelsea FC vs Tottenham Hotspur2:022/232H14/08/2022Chelsea FC vs Tottenham Hotspur2:221/2223H23/01/2022Chelsea FC vs Tottenham Hotspur2:020/2110H29/11/2020Chelsea FC vs Tottenham Hotspur0:019/2027H22/02/2020Chelsea FC vs Tottenham Hotspur2:118/1928H27/02/2019Chelsea FC vs Tottenham Hotspur2:017/1832H01/04/2018Chelsea FC vs Tottenham Hotspur1:316/1713H26/11/2016Chelsea FC vs Tottenham Hotspur2:115/1636H02/05/2016Chelsea FC vs Tottenham Hotspur2:214/1514H03/12/2014Chelsea FC vs Tottenham Hotspur3:013/1429H08/03/2014Chelsea FC vs Tottenham Hotspur4:012/1333H08/05/2013Chelsea FC vs Tottenham Hotspur2:211/1230H24/03/2012Chelsea FC vs Tottenham Hotspur0:010/1135H30/04/2011Chelsea FC vs Tottenham Hotspur2:109/106H20/09/2009Chelsea FC vs Tottenham Hotspur3:008/093H31/08/2008Chelsea FC vs Tottenham Hotspur1:107/0822H12/01/2008Chelsea FC vs Tottenham Hotspur2:006/0732H07/04/2007Chelsea FC vs Spurs1:005/0629H11/03/2006Chelsea FC vs Spurs2:104/056H19/09/2004Chelsea FC vs Spurs0:003/045H13/09/2003Chelsea FC vs Spurs4:202/0326H01/02/2003Chelsea FC vs Spurs1:101/0227H13/03/2002Chelsea FC vs Spurs4:000/0111H28/10/2000Chelsea FC vs Spurs3:099/005H12/01/2000Chelsea FC vs Spurs1:098/9918H19/12/1998Chelsea FC vs Spurs2:097/9833H11/04/1998Chelsea FC vs Spurs2:096/9711H26/10/1996Chelsea FC vs Spurs3:195/9615H25/11/1995Chelsea FC vs Spurs0:094/9527H11/02/1995Chelsea FC vs Spurs1:193/9430H27/02/1994Chelsea FC vs Spurs4:392/9335H20/03/1993Chelsea FC vs Spurs1:1Spurs vs Chelsea is a bigger derby for the BluesWhile the Chelsea-Tottenham clash is undoubtedly important for Spurs fans, it is arguably a lot more important to Blues supporters, as it has become their biggest derby over recent decades. For Spurs, the North London derby will always be their most important derby. While new Tottenham signings are told about the rivalry with Arsenal, the new Chelsea signings are likely told that the Spurs clash is the most important for their fans. One can see that with just how much their legends, such as Frank Lampard and John Terry, hate Spurs. One of the consequences of this slightly lopsided rivalry is that the Chelsea players tend to approach this game with more intensity than their Tottenham counterparts. That will hopefully not be the case next week, with De Zerbi always demanding maximum intensity and passion from his players.READ MORE: Tottenham predicted lineup vs Coventry as Mateus Fernandes returns to the XIThe post Chelsea send ‘nice’ warning to Tottenham amid woeful Stamford Bridge record appeared first on Spurs Web.
