Fast Signal, Slow Signal: Ichimoku + Golden Cross on BTCUSDBitcoinCRYPTO:BTCUSDITTO-RYUTrend tools move at different speeds. A fast signal reacts first and can flip back. A slow signal arrives late but tells you whether a change has lasted. Ichimoku is the fast signal; the golden cross (SMA 50 above SMA 200) is the slow one. A trend is confirmed when the slow signal catches up with the fast one. Example chart: Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTCUSD), Daily. Ichimoku Itto, Crypto preset (20/60/120 · disp 30), because Bitcoin trades 7 days a week. SMA 50 and SMA 200. FAST SIGNAL · ICHIMOKU • Price above the cloud — ✅ • Future cloud green — ✅ • Tenkan above Kijun — ✅ • Kijun rising — ✅ • Chikou above the price 30 bars ago — ✅ • Itto Trend: STRONG UP (Score +100%) The fast signal has turned up fully. SLOW SIGNAL · GOLDEN CROSS • SMA 50 above SMA 200 — ✅ • SMA 200 rising (vs 20 bars ago; within ±0.5% counts as flat) — ✅ • Price above SMA 200 — ✅ The slow signal has caught up: the cross is in place and the 200-day average itself has turned up. THE BIGGER PICTURE · WEEKLY • Weekly row in the Itto table positive — ❌ (-20%) • Daily Trend UP or STRONG UP, Zone Trending — ✅ The slowest reader, the Weekly, has not followed yet. WHAT IT MEANS Checklist total: 9/10 (9–10 established · 6–8 developing · 3–5 mixed · 0–2 no uptrend). On the Daily, the fast and slow signals agree. Only the Weekly lags, which is normal, because a weekly reading needs more bars to change. Technicians treat the Daily uptrend as established and watch whether the Weekly follows, which would confirm the same trend on the bigger timeframe. WHEN THE FAST SIGNAL TURNS THE OTHER WAY The order works in reverse. If the Ichimoku checks flip to the mirror side (price below the cloud, future cloud red, Tenkan below Kijun), the fast signal no longer supports the uptrend. If a death cross follows (SMA 50 crossing below SMA 200), the slow signal agrees. When both turn, the uptrend reading is no longer confirmed, and technicians reassess it from the start rather than holding on to the earlier reading. THE LESSON The fast signal tells you something is changing. The slow signal tells you it has changed. Confidence grows when they agree.
