Hello, 31F here with no history of smoking or tobacco use. I had my mucocele removed last Monday so today is day 7 and stitches began dissolving last night. This little red bump had formed at the knot of the stitches but now that the knot fell out I am hoping the bump will flatten out soon. Now, I have some swelling and a bump on the outside of my lip! I can’t get it looked at til next week at my follow up. I’m concerned because before my surgery I was having no swelling or bump on the outside of my lip and now this is here. It was previously covered with dried, dead skin, but that fell off naturally this morning when I did my salt water rinse. At first I thought it could be a cold sore but it’s been the same size for a few days and not changed which doesn’t follow the pattern of any cold sores I’ve had. Is this just swelling from the stitches dissolving??
