Plus500 has conditionally agreed to acquire full ownership of Guru Corretora de Títulos e Valores Mobiliários Ltd, a regulated Brazilian broker-dealer. The deal will be funded entirely from the firm’s existing cash resources of over $860 million. By acquiring Guru, the London-listed broker directly secures local CVM and Central Bank of Brazil (BCB) licenses. This regulatory framework allows the group to broaden its domestic offering to include Brazilian stocks, futures, options, and fixed-income securities.“Brazil is one of the world's most attractive trading markets, and acquiring Guru gives us the licence, the experienced local team and the regulatory framework to thrive,” said Plus500 CEO David Zruia. Taking on South America The acquisition also serves as a local anchor for Plus500's expanding institutional ecosystem in South America. Earlier this month, Plus500 announced a strategic B2B partnership with Nelogica, a major South American trading technology firm. That partnership connects Plus500’s clearing and execution infrastructure with Nelogica’s BlackArrow platform, enabling Brazilian and other regional financial institutions to access CME Group derivatives. The broker's first on-the-ground presence in South America was in 2025 when it entered the Colombian market by receiving authorisation from the Financial Superintendence to establish a new representative office in the country. The Super App Ambition The Guru deal arrives just days after Plus500 announced its acquisition of Hedge, a US FINRA-regulated broker-dealer. That transaction secured essential infrastructure for the group's North American expansion, laying the groundwork for a broader multi-asset retail rollout in the United States while complementing its growing footprint across Latin America.Already authorized by the CFTC, the broker delivers clearing and execution services for futures alongside prediction markets to both retail and institutional traders. It rolled out prediction market offerings for US retail users under its Plus500 Futures arm, incorporating contracts from Kalshi. It was also appointed as the clearing partner for the new prediction venture introduced by CME and FanDuel.Zruia said the Hedge deal will pave the way for Plus500’s US super-app, slated for launch in the first quarter of 2027.
