West Ham United are interested in a deal to sign Republic of Ireland striker Troy Parrott from AZ Alkmaar.Nuno Espirito Santo wants to sign the 24-year-old to spearhead the club’s Championship promotion challenge. Parrott has caught the attention of clubs in Europe and England after a prolific period in the Netherlands, where he has scored 51 goals in 95 games for AZ over the last two seasons.He joined AZ in a £6.7m deal in 2024, after only four senior appearances for Tottenham Hotspur, where he came through the ranks.Parrott shone during Ireland’s 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign, scoring a hat-trick, including a 96th-minute winner, against Hungary to book Ireland a place in the play-offs. He’s scored 11 goals in 37 senior caps.According to Sky Sports, West Ham want to reinvest some of their summer windfall into a deal for Parrott, but face competition from Ajax and Real Betis.
