On Thursday, the US military’s Central Command (CENTCOM) murdered an Iranian family as part of the brutal and unprovoked war of aggression that the US national-security state is waging against Iran on behalf of Israel.Press TV reported that 3 members of a family, including a 2 year-old boy, were killed in a US airstrike on a residential building on Iran’s southern Qeshm Island. Furthermore, 2 other children from the family were rescued from the rubble after the strike and were transferred to a hospital for treatment. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Esmaeil Baghaei, declared that the attack was “a crime reminiscent of Daesh (ISIS) terrorist atrocities.”Baghaei also stated, “The criminal attack carried out late last night against the homes of some of the noblest Iranians in Qeshm, which resulted in the destruction of several houses and the martyrdom of hardworking taxi driver Qeisar Jafari, his wife Zahra Jafari, and their innocent two-year-old son Sina, pains the heart of every conscientious human being.”The war against Iran is illegal under US law because the war does not provide for the “common defense” of the American people. To date, Iran has neither attacked the American people inside the United States nor is there any credible evidence that Iran has planned to attack the American people. There is also no credible evidence that Iran has ever sought to obtain nuclear weapons. In addition, the war is illegal under international law because it is a crime of aggression, which is the “supreme international crime,” and it was not authorized by the UN Security Council. In 2019 Iran designated CENTCOM as a terrorist organization. Terrorism is the unlawful use of violence to achieve political goals. During the illegal war on Iran, CENTCOM has committed numerous war crimes, including attacking Iranian homes, schools, hospitals, and civilian infrastructure.Iran’s designation of CENTCOM as a terrorist organization was correct. The post Another Atrocity appeared first on LewRockwell.
