Starting on August 7, 2026, McDonald’s Japan will include Pokemon toys in its Happy Meals. These are part of the 30th anniversary celebrations. There are a handful of different starters, and they will show up in two batches. Because these toys are part of the 30th anniversary celebration, they include Pokemon from all generations, not just the most recent or upcoming ones. Snorlax and Eevee, who are immensely popular Pokemon, are also represented. The toys are incredibly simple, like spinners, disc shooters, and sticker cases. They’re almost nostalgic, closer to toys from an older generation. This could also be a nod to their ‌commemorative‌ nature. The official website for these toys includes short videos demonstrating how to play with these toys. If you get one that you’re unsure of how to use, you can always refer to the website for details. From August 7-9, 2026, each group will only be able to purchase up to six Happy Meals per transaction. You will not be able to order the Happy Meal on delivery apps, save for the official McDonald’s one. McDonald’s asks that people not buy these Happy Meal toys for reasons such as reselling. The Pokemon Happy Meal toys will be available at McDonald’s Japan from August 7, 2026. The latest mainline game in the series, Winds and Waves, will come out in 2027 for the Switch 2.
