Jelly Roll Reveals How Long He’s Taking A Break From Touring After Bunnie Xo Split

Jelly Roll has been going through a major change in his personal life, and he’s been quite open about it. It was reported earlier this summer that he and wife Bunnie Xo had decided to divorce after almost a decade of marriage. The couple’s split has since been finalized and, overall, they appeared to remain amicable throughout the proceedings. While Roll (whose real name is Jason DeFord) has remained busy amid this time, he’s now opening up about taking some time off and just how long he plans to do so.Lately, the “Son of a Sinner” performer has had a few high-profile gigs, with one of those being The Little Ass Shed Tour. Additionally, Jelly Roll’s been performing alongside Post Malone as part of the Big Ass Stadium Tour. During a performance at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City last week, DeFord (41) reportedly took some time to address his future plans and revealed his intention to take a break from concerts for a while. Although he didn’t mention his divorce as part of the cause for the hiatus, Roll did provide another reason:This has truly been a lifetime experience for me. And in a couple of nights, I go to Colorado Springs and do my last show for a year or two. I’m fixing to take some time off and heal. Thank you for the opportunity.Given Jelly Roll plans to step away for “a year or two,” it sounds like it’s going to be a while before he goes back out on the road again. As noted by Country Now, though, the Grammy winner needs some time to “heal.” The Tennessee native has never been one to shy away from his personal needs and, over the years, he’s been candid about his struggles with mental health. Aside from, though, it’s also fair to say that these past several years have seen Roll work extensively, so the notion of him needing a break is understandable. In terms of the “Heart of Stone” performer’s personal life, reports of his divorce began to surface this past June, at which point movers were spotted at the Nashville home he shared with his wife. Insiders subsequently dropped claims about the nature of Roll’s relationship with Bunnie Xo (whose real name is Alisa DeFord). Some sources claimed their relationship was a “PR nightmare” due to the pair’s differing public personas. It was also alleged that the split was partially due to Alisa’s purported desire to move back into the escort business.Jelly Roll later addressed fans who wanted the “piping hot tea” on the divorce and directed them to a tell-all episode of Bunnie’s Dumb Blonde podcast. During that episode, she talked about how she and her former hubby would hold in their feelings on certain subjects and said the divorce was ultimately sparked by a fight on Mother’s Day. Bunnie also praised her ex, however, and said he was “sweet” enough to give her a “compound” they purchased after the divorce, which was finalized in July.As Chris DeFord now takes time off, it’s been reported that Alisa is seeking to make some business moves. The media personality is reportedly taking meetings with agents as well as producers for a potential reality show. Alisa herself has not officially announced such plans, as of this writing. In the meantime, it remains to be seen just how exactly Jelly Roll will choose to spend his downtime. Whatever the case may be, hopefully, he gets an ample amount of time to rest and recharge as he sees fit.
