Banco Santander is expanding its portfolio of digital services with the launch of Santander eSIM, a new solution integrated into the bank’s app that enables customers to access mobile connectivity in more than 160 countries in a simple, transparent way and without the need to replace their physical SIM card.Spain will be the first Santander market to launch this new service, developed under a global agreement between Santander and Gigs.Following Spain, the solution will be gradually rolled out across other Santander markets, starting with Portugal and Mexico, and later expanding to additional countries. The project is part of Santander’s Global Businesses strategy to develop scalable digital solutions and leverage the Group’s global capabilities to deliver new services to retail customers across all its markets.The new eSIM has been designed especially for customers who travel frequently and are looking for a more convenient and cost-effective alternative to traditional roaming services, particularly outside the European Union. Through the Santander app, users will be able to purchase data plans, monitor their usage and renew their packages in just a few steps, either before or during their trip.With this launch, Santander strengthens its commitment to providing practical digital services that support customers in their everyday lives, integrated into an increasingly comprehensive and personalized banking experience.The solution will provide access to international mobile networks with global coverage through a seamless experience fully integrated into the bank’s digital ecosystem, eliminating the need for third-party applications or physical SIM card replacements.Santander has also designed a highly competitive commercial offering, with pricing tailored to different travel profiles and lengths of stay. Customers will be able to purchase data packages of 3 GB, 5 GB, 10 GB, 20 GB and 50 GB directly through the app, with coverage in destinations including the United States, the United Kingdom, Morocco, Turkey, Japan, Brazil and Thailand, among many others.The new solution will also enable customers to monitor their data consumption in real time and manage their plans from a single area within the Santander app, simplifying the international connectivity experience.Through this initiative, Santander continues to advance its innovation strategy and expand its digital services offering, further strengthening its value proposition for digital customers, frequent travellers and younger audiences.
