Joel Politi's homebred Stress Release (f, 2, Not This time–Littlestitious, by Ghostzapper) came flying late to take the GIII Adirondack Stakes and give trainer Kinnon LaRose his first graded victory Sunday at Saratoga. Sent off at 6-1, the dark bay filly sat off the pace set by Luminous Beauty (Flameaway), who took the field through an opening quarter in :21.99. Stress Release loomed a three while three wide after a half in :45.40. She forged to the lead in deep stretch before spurting away to an authoritative victory. Luminous Beauty was second and Scarlett Begonia (Life is Good) was third. The time for the 6 1/2 furlongs was 1:17.45.Stress Release romped home a five-length winner of her five-furlong debut at Churchill Downs June 20 for former Tom Amoss assistant trainer LaRose.
