Following Ryan Hurst’s injury and the studio’s subsequent decision to recast him, it appears other characters will share the same fate, albeit for much more benign reasons. Both Atreus, the son of Kratos, and Thor’s daughter Thrud are set to be recast for God of War Season Two, since the story requires much older versions of the characters to cover the events of Ragnarok. That is according to MP1st, which reports that a casting call has gone out looking for teenage versions of two characters: Joshua and Ruth, both of whom have been identified as Atreus and Thrud, respectively. At the moment, Callum Vinson and Island Austin are to play these two characters, though they are very young and will have to be replaced so production of the next part of the story could take place without waiting for them to actually grow up. Atreus is an integral part of the story, so whoever plays him will have a lot of work on their hands. Image via Sony The new casting call is targeting actors between 14 and 17 years of age, significantly older than season one’s 9 to 12 years. From the casting call, we also get a snippet into the events season two aims to cover, and it appears it’ll pick up a few years after the first, right when God of War Ragnarok kicks off. This means we should get a basically 1:1 story of the rebooted God of War games, though with creative liberties taken to accommodate this new form of media. Still, it’s good to know a show will follow the games it’s adapting for once, and don’t let any naysayers tell you otherwise. The Last of Us did it, and look how it worked out for them. 0The post God of War keeps changing faces as Atreus and Thor’s daughter Thrud are confirmed for a season two recast appeared first on Destructoid.
