NGO discusses environmental implications of AI data centres - The HinduUpdated - August 02, 2026 11:13 pm IST - VISAKHAPATNAMEnvironmental NGO Green Visakha organised a brainstorming session with members of the legal fraternity at Alluri Seetharama Raju Vignana Kendram in Visakhapatnam on Sunday to discuss the environmental, social and legal implications of proposed hyperscale AI data centres.Green Visakha president Raja Rama Mohan Roy said such projects should be assessed in terms of natural, environmental and social justice, considering their impact on land, water, electricity and biodiversity.Professor Byragi Reddy of Andhra University called for greater public awareness, while Human Rights Forum representative V.S.
