In all my years of practicing internal medicine I can count on one hand the number of families that have prepared in advance for just what you’re talking about, and I’d have fingers left over. Yes I’ve told them to do it but old people absolutely do not want to move out of their homes and want status quo. The children are the ones to bring it up but get huge resistance. They only do it in a health crisis and the choices have to be made when options aren’t as good. Please guys, plan ahead.
