Xbox prices in Europe are shooting up by upwards of 50 percent

Wait 5 sec.

Well, it was bound to happen at some point. As AI continues to ravage memory supplies and a lot of other supplies, on top of that, prices continue to exponentially inflate in the tech world, affecting the average consumer the most. Consoles and consumer-grade gaming hardware have been hit particularly hard by these trends, and now we’re seeing Xbox get yet another price increase, this time only in Europe and the UK. Prices will increase by upwards of €200, or around $230, depending on the edition. This was first spotted by users on Resetera, who’ve shared that the 1TB disc version of the Series X will go from €599.99 to €799.99, while its digital counterpart is going up from €549.99 to €749.99. The Series S is getting a €150 jump, from €349.99 to €499.99 for the 512GB variant, while the 1TB version is getting bumped up by €200 as well to €599.99. At this point we’ll cross $1000 way before next gen comes out. Image via Xbox As we can see, the price increase is much more severe for the high-storage versions, since those, too, have to be produced using the same undiced wafers that AI companies have been buying up like there’s no tomorrow. Anything from old hard disks to flash drives to NVMEs and SATA SSDs will be going up in price and already has by tremendous amounts. RAM is only one part of it all, and in the case of complex gaming consoles like the Xbox, ALL of these different price increases come together and give us these results. You can expect phones and TVs to be going up, too, and even probably stuff like ACs, fridges, and basically any other modern digital appliance that you own that contains any substantial amount of memory—the majority of digital devices these days. 0The post Xbox prices in Europe are shooting up by upwards of 50 percent appeared first on Destructoid.
