A Wootton Bassett half-brother to Derby winner Christmas Day features among the potential headliners in another blue-blooded catalogue for Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, with a total of 469 lots set to go under the hammer at Park Paddocks during the three-day sale beginning Tuesday, October 6.Nineteen of the top 20 stallions in Europe will be represented, with the late Wootton Bassett leading the way by number of yearlings with 35 lots catalogued. As well as the half-brother to Christmas Day – who was a Book 1 yearling himself when purchased by Jamie McCalmont Bloodstock for 450,000gns – notable lots from the penultimate crop of Wootton Bassett include a half-sister to another of this year's Classic winners in Irish 1,000 Guineas heroine Precise, as well as a colt out of the GI E. P. Taylor Stakes scorer Mutamakina.Other yearlings with siblings who have recorded recent Classic success include the half-brothers to Prix du Jockey Club winners Camille Pissarro and Look De Vega, by Justify and Starspangledbanner, respectively. In total, the catalogue features siblings to 44 Classic and Group 1 winners and 219 Group/Listed winners.The 21 yearlings by Frankel include a full-brother to the Fillies' Mile heroine Ylang Ylang and a full-sister to the Prix Saint-Alary victrix Jannah Rose, plus a filly out of the four-time Group 1 winner Alcohol Free. Sea The Stars (31), Lope De Vega (29) and Night Of Thunder (27) will also be strongly represented, while the 24 yearlings by Blue Point include a half-sister to the multiple Group 1 winner Charyn and a half-brother to the outstanding sprinter Battaash. Fellow Darley sire Dubawi has a select group of five yearlings catalogued, including a colt out of Oaks winner Anapurna.First-season sires are well represented, with 2,000 Guineas and Dewhurst Stakes winner Chaldean leading the way with 13 yearlings.
