Target worker confronts Las Vegas Walmart employee over alleged ‘hideous and disgusting’ in-store behavior: ‘bring me your manager right now’

A trip to Walmart for a phone case took an unexpected turn after one shopper says an employee made comments she felt could not go unchallenged. A Target employee is accusing a Walmart worker of making racist remarks during a conversation in the store’s electronics department. Instead of walking away, she asked to speak with a manager before later sharing the encounter on TikTok. She later shared the encounter on TikTok and says Walmart has since contacted her requesting additional information about the complaint. The creator, who posts on TikTok as Glory, was shopping at a Walmart on Russell Road and Eastern Avenue in Las Vegas when she found herself waiting for help in the electronics department. She says another customer was already being assisted when the encounter began. The conversation takes a different turn According to Glory, the situation became tense when the employee attempted to help her next, prompting the other customer to snap, “Don’t you walk away from me and go help her. Like, what are you doing?” She says the customer then turned to her and “told me to f– off, basically,” before demanding the employee continue helping her. After the interaction ended, Glory apologized, telling the employee, “I’m really sorry,” explaining that she also works at Target and knows what it’s like to deal with difficult customers. The conversation soon took an unexpected turn. @glory.in.wonderland Bobby, you suck. #walmart #crazystory #storytime ♬ original sound – Glory According to Glory, the employee told her, “Oh, well, this kind of stuff didn’t happen when I was growing up, because we had all white people here.” He then added, “Yeah, we didn’t have, like, a lot of black people around, so we didn’t have people behaving like that when I was growing up. This country’s gone to s–t.” She then pushed back, replying, “Her race has nothing to do with that behaviour. She was just a rude person. That has nothing to do with her being black.” According to her account, the employee responded, “no, actually? it has everything to do with her being black.” She says she could hardly believe what she was hearing and responded, “excuse me, you can’t say stuff like that. I need you to bring me your manager right now.” After the employee allegedly told her to go ahead and report him, she headed to the front of the store. Before heading to the front of the store, she turned back and told the employee, “what you just said was hideous and disgusting. You are a hideous and disgusting person.”  She later spoke with the manager on duty, who took down her contact information and listened to her account of the incident. The encounter joins a growing list of customer complaints about in-store interactions that have gained traction on social media, though the circumstances vary from case to case. While browsing for a phone case elsewhere in the store, Glory says she mentioned the incident to another employee, who recognized the coworker she was describing. According to her account, the worker responded, “Oh, yeah, the tall guy. Like, the tall, lanky guy?… yeah, he does this all the time.” According to Glory, the employee said the coworker had a reputation for making racist remarks to customers and fellow employees. Many viewers praised Glory for reporting the encounter rather than ignoring it. One person wrote, “Proud of you for speaking up.” Others questioned whether the complaint would lead to disciplinary action. “Hopefully they actually act and don’t just ‘investigate’ the matter ,” another commenter wrote. A third viewer echoed the creator’s point that an individual’s behavior should not be tied to race, commenting, “Yeah, exactly! There’s rude ass white people brown people tan people it doesn’t matter. Race has nothing to do with it. That racial should lose his job STAT!” Before signing off, Glory argued that dealing with difficult customers is part of retail work and should never be used to justify broad claims about an entire group of people. As of the video’s latest update, Glory says Walmart has begun following up on her complaint. She told viewers, “Update. I did receive an email from Walmart saying that they want me to submit a written report and they want more information. So they are following up, which is cool.”
