My hair has been shedding for 20 months. I have no idea why

Wait 5 sec.

I’ve been shedding hair like crazy for almost two years. The front parting on my head is the worst spot. I’ve taken every blood test under the sun and have included all of my levels. I lose eyebrows in the front portion cyclically and they grow back then fall out again months later. I have horizontal ridges on my nails repeatedly. Does this sound like anyone else? I haven’t had a doctor be able to help me at all. I see my ferritin is at 50 but could that really be causing all of this shedding. I really doubt it. I have no idea what I’m missing. My part feels so wide and all of my friends and family tell me it’s normal. I feel like I’m going mad. My hair never looked like this before. I get a visceral reaction every time I see myself in the mirror. All I hear is to find the cause of the shedding or minoxidil won’t help. Well, I’ve been trying for a long time to determine what’s going on and I can’t figure it out. I’m tired of watching my hair fall out and feeling inadequate. I understand that there are worse situations out there, but it’s not improving - only declining and they say treating early on with hair loss is paramount. Separate rant: There are also no hair loss specialists anywhere near me. I hate to shit on derms, but I feel like they are huge sellouts. They don’t care about helping people and they just open up cosmetic clinics instead and profit off of women’s insecurities. submitted by /u/Significant-Habit152 [link] [comments]
