Scottish Premiership champions Celtic take on Dundee in the pick of Monday’s games, with an EFL Cup preliminary-round clash between York and Crawley the other standout on the coupon. There are plenty of matches taking place on the continent and much further afield, too, making for nice punting and acca opportunities. talkSPORT BET – Score up to £30 in free bets – CLAIM HERE*Monday football tipsBet of the day – York to beat Crawley @ 3/5Stuart Maynard’s reward for winning the National League with York was his P45, but, with his replacement being experienced EFL manager Scott Lindsey, their decision begins to make sense. Poetically, Lindsey’s first game as Minstermen manager comes against his former employers Crawley and he looks set to get revenge for his sacking last term. Continuous spending means he has a strong squad to work with. New signings Jack Hunt, Arthur Read and Zech Medley have only improved matters and York will be coming up against an overhauled Crawley. The Red Devils have already seen 13 players depart over the summer and with 11 new faces coming in, it could take a while for Colin Kazim-Richards to get to grips with his new-look side. York have a new manager but the core of the team remains, including last season’s 34-goal hero Ollie Pearce, and they should start the Lindsey era with a win. Bet builder – Celtic – Half-time/Full-time, Camilo Duran anytime goalscorer, Both teams to score @ 18/5A dramatic last day saw Celtic defeat Hearts to lift the Scottish Premiership and they should get their title defence off to the perfect start when hosting Dundee. The Bhoys have recruited well this summer, adding real firepower up front, and can make a fast start against the Dark Blues, who trailed at half-time when these sides last met in April. Camilo Duran is part of that new-look Celtic attack and he caught the eye with five goals in 10 Champions League appearances for Qarabag last term.He has carried that form into the new campaign, netting three goals in as many pre-season games for Martin O’Neill’s side, and he is the standout scorer pick in Glasgow. Dundee scored in defeat in the past two head-to-heads and with Celtic going seven games without a clean sheet, they can repeat the trick. Acca – Cracovia, FCSB, Sirius & San Lorenzo to win @ 11/1There are a trio of European sides to get behind on Monday, starting with Cracovia. The Polish outfit opened their Ekstraklasa campaign with a solid 0-0 draw at Lech Poznan and should build on that by beating Pogon Szczecin, who opened with a 1-0 home defeat to Legia. Romanian giants FCSB have started the new league season with two wins to nil and they look far too good for Farul Constanta, who lost 2-1 to Universitatea Cluj before beating Corvinul, but only after their promoted visitors were reduced to 10 men. Allsvenskan leaders Sirius are the last European team worth backing, given that they have won 12 of their last 14 games, while their visitors, rock-bottom Halmstad, have gone five matches without a victory. Further afield, San Lorenzo make appeal in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Their hosts, Central Cordoba, have lost their opening two matches without scoring and lack the quality of a side who have won three of the last five head-to-heads.talkSPORT BET – Score up to £30 in free bets – CLAIM HERE*Odds correct at time of publish and subject to change.Remember to gamble responsiblyA responsible gambler is someone who:Establishes time and monetary limits before playingOnly gambles with money they can afford to loseNever chase their lossesDoesn’t gamble if they’re upset, angry or depressedGamCare – www.gamcare.org.ukGamble Aware – www.gambleaware.orgFor help with a gambling problem, call the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133 or go to www.gamstop.co.uk to be excluded from all UK-regulated gambling websites.Commercial content notice: Taking one of the bookmaker offers featured in this article may result in a payment to talkSPORT. 18+.
