458 motorists booked for drunk driving across tri-commissionerate limits during special enforcement drives - The HinduUpdated - June 14, 2026 07:29 pm IST - HYDERABADA total of 458 motorists were booked for drunk driving across Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Malkajgiri commissionerates during special enforcement drives conducted over the past week.Hyderabad traffic police recorded the highest number of cases, booking 281 motorists during a two-day special drive conducted on June 12 and 13. Cyberabad traffic police, meanwhile, booked 53 motorists during a weekend special enforcement drive. In Malkajgiri commissionerate, traffic police booked 124 motorists for drunk driving during a week-long enforcement campaign conducted between June 7 and 13.Traffic police across the three commissionerates said all offenders would be produced before the courts.In Cyberabad, 210 drunk driving cases were disposed of by courts between June 8 and 13. Of these, eight offenders were ordered to perform social service in addition to paying fines, while 202 were fined. No offender was awarded a jail sentence during the period.Similarly, courts disposed of 175 drunk driving cases in Malkajgiri between June 7 and 13.
