Former Kampala Mayor and president of the People’s Front for Freedom (PFF), Erias Lukwago, has been charged with misprision of treason and remanded to Luzira Prison until June 22, 2026.According to court documents, the offence of misprision of treason alleges that an individual had knowledge of plans aimed at unlawfully changing the government but failed to report the information to the relevant authorities.Lukwago appeared before the Makindye Chief Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday afternoon, where he denied the charge.
