Significant magnitude 5.4 quake hits 53 km southwest of Kalamata, Greece in the evening

Just 4 minutes ago, a 5.4-magnitude earthquake struck near Kalamata, Messenia, Peloponnese, Greece. The tremor was recorded in the evening on Sunday, June 14th, 2026, at 9:17 pm local time, at a shallow depth of 12.70 km below the surface.The event was filed by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the first seismological agency to report it.Our monitoring service identified a second report from the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake which listed the quake at magnitude 5.4 as well.
