If you’re a young dancer dreaming of training with some of the biggest names in ballet, this summer’s YGP Malta International Summer School is the kind of opportunity that doesn’t come around often.Returning this August and September, the programme brings together an exceptional faculty of internationally acclaimed artists and educators for two intensive weeks of training designed for dancers aged 9 to 18, all culminating in the chance to perform on the stage of the historic Manoel Theatre.Participants can choose to attend either week individually or take part in both weeks for an even more immersive experience.Week One, running from Monday 24th to Thursday 27th August, will feature classes led by Alexei Moskalenko, Associate Artistic Director of Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP), Dimitri Magitov of the John Cranko School in Stuttgart, Principal Dutch National Ballet dancer Qian Liu and Marisha Bonnici, partner of YGP Malta.Week Two, taking place from Sunday 30th August to Wednesday 2nd September, will welcome the return of Alexei Moskalenko alongside Robert Parker, Artistic Director of Elmhurst Ballet School, Carlos Lopez, Director of Repertoire at American Ballet Theatre and Marisha Bonnici.For aspiring dancers, the opportunity to learn directly from artists and directors working at the highest levels of the profession is invaluable. From elite ballet coaching to contemporary training, students will gain insight, feedback and inspiration from figures who have shaped some of the world’s most respected dance institutions.The experience doesn’t end in the studio. The culmination of each week will see students taking to the stage of Manoel Theatre, with performances scheduled for 27th August and 2nd September respectively, giving participants the chance to showcase their work in one of Malta’s most iconic cultural venues.And it’s not just for local talent.
