Few names hold more sway over the Minecraft community than Technoblade. Four years after his untimely passing, the legendary content creator’s legacy stands tall and proud, thanks largely to the time and effort his fans, friends, and family have poured into keeping his memory alive. And now there’s new merch. To celebrate what would have been Technoblade’s 27th birthday, those close to him are putting out a custom, Techno-inspired copy of Sun Tzu’s The Art of War and some accompanying goodies, with proceeds going to charity. A The Art of War reprint is the perfect way to honor Technoblade’s memory Technoblade was pretty tight-lipped about his personal life, but one thing he never hid was his love for The Art of War. Sun Tzu’s literature-defining treatise on combat tactics clearly struck a chord with him, and he would frequently quote (or hilariously misquote) the book in his YouTube videos and Twitch streams. The greatest display of Technoblade’s love for Sun Tzu is the “SkyBlock: Potato War” trilogy, a three-part video series where he strives to become the highest-ranking potato farmer in the Hypixel SkyBlock Minecraft server. Facing stiff competition from the current number-one-ranking potato farmer, I’m a squid kid, Technoblade pulls tactics directly from Sun Tzu’s pages to claim victory. Now, his father (who goes by Mister Technodad on social media), the Team Technoblade memorial organization, and a talented team of artists and editors have come together to create The Art of War: Technoblade Edition. The glossy tome features the entire text of The Art of War in English and Chinese, amazing illustrations, and what is sure to be an emotional foreword by Mister Technodad. The merchandise line also includes a pair of The Art of War: Technoblade Edition collector coins modeled after ancient Chinese currency, a full deck of The Art of War: Technoblade Edition-themed playing cards, and a custom t-shirt featuring art from the book. As is the organization’s tradition, Team Technoblade is donating all proceeds from The Art of War: Technoblade Edition and related merchandise to the Sarcoma Foundation of America, which focuses on the illness that claimed the content creator’s life in June 2022. The Art of War: Technoblade Edition is a great addition to any gaming book collection, so think about picking up a copy if you have the money and the interest.0The post “This Technoblade-themed The Art of War charity merch is pretty cool” – Sun Tzu appeared first on Destructoid.
