Extreme heat is taking its toll on Disney’s theme parks.Multiple Disney parks across the globe are under heat warnings this week. At Walt Disney World Resort, heat advisories have been issued on several days this week, with the heat index expected to reach as high as 111 degrees Fahrenheit.Credit: DisneyYesterday (June 19) also saw Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and other Disney World parks fall under a Marginal Risk for Severe Storms. The National Weather Service warned of wind gusts, hail, heavy rainfall, and a minor tornado risk.Disney Resort Struggles With Extreme HeatFurther afield, Disneyland Paris is also struggling with the heat.Parts of France – home to both Disneyland Park and Disney Adventure World – were hit by a severe high temperature warning today as temperatures exceeded 90 degrees Fahrenheit. While not quite as high as Disney World, the average high for June in Paris is 75 degrees Fahrenheit.Credit: DisneyTemperatures are set to soar even higher, hitting a predicted 104 degrees Fahrenheit on Wednesday.In light of the soaring temperatures, Disney has implemented several operational changes.Today, all costumed characters – with the exception of Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and Olaf were scrapped from Disney Stars on Parade. Disney also scrapped some planned outdoor meet-and-greets with costumed characters and replaced them with face characters.
